Fix just about anything with Bondic’s light-cured superpolymer gel.
Let’s face it, most glues and adhesives kind of suck… They’re messy and they never seem to hold like they should. You usually end up re-gluing and the results are always worse than your first attempt.
What if you could just “weld” things together with a beam of light? Sounds like something straight out of sci-fi movie, right?
But hey, 2020 is here!
We may not have flying cars yet… but now we have Bondic.
It can bond, fix, fill and even build objects using an innovative liquid plastic compound that hardens in 4 seconds with a beam of UV light.
I’ve had the chance to test it and I have to say the results are pretty amazing!
Bondic is not a glue, it’s a new type of super-adhesive polymer that cures into rock-hard plastic when exposed to ultraviolet light.
Bondic was invented by Dr. Thomas Offermann, a dentist who was inspired by the UV-cured bonding compounds he used on the job. (Like the incredibly-strong adhesives used to keep tooth fillings and braces in place.)
Haywood knew there were limitless applications outside of the dental industry, so he teamed up with a chemical engineer. Together they came up with an ingenious liquid plastic “welding” compound that’s one of the strongest bonding agents available.
Bondic works differently than any other glue on the market. It offers you pinpoint precision with the pen-style applicator, so the polymer only goes where you want it. It remains liquid (like the consistency of honey) until you shine UV light on it for 4 seconds to cure. This allows you as much time as you need to position your materials — bond exactly where you want and harden when you want.
Bondic can do things that glue can’t do and works where glue fails. It creates new material, so not only can you use it to repair, you can also use it to fabricate and build things. It’s kind of like having a freestyle 3D printer that fits in your pocket.
Using Bondic is super simple with just 4 steps:
While Bondic is pretty awesome for bonding, fixing, filling and building, there a few things to keep in mind.
Bondic isn’t glue. Since it only cures and hardens with UV light, you need to make sure light can reach the area where you’re applying the liquid plastic. No light, no bond.
In other words, you can’t do things like replace a broken tile in your shower because you can’t shine UV light underneath to cure the polymer. (Not that you’d be gluing bathroom tiles with Bondic anyway, but you get the idea.)
Also, natural sunlight contains UV rays, so you need to use Bondic indoors or in the shade.
In my opinion, absolutely! With bundle deals, you can get Bondic for as low as $12 each which makes it a no-brainer.
I love that you can take your time getting parts positioned exactly how you want them, then you cure and harden in 4 seconds flat. It’s also awesome that you can bond together objects with contours and surfaces that don’t even line up because Bondic can fill in the space and lock them together.
It’s super versatile and the potential uses are endless.
Right now you can get the best deals on Bondic from their official website.
The Bondic starter kit comes with everything you need: applicator pen, superpolymer gel, UV light and a handy metal storage case.
